Explanation

The lungs are responsible for absorbing oxygen from the air we breathe, and eliminating carbon dioxide.

• Common symptoms of imbalance may include:
*  Asthma
*  Discomfort in between the shoulders
*  Discomfort in the ribs or the upper back

• Hormones Produced: None known

• The lungs generate the following emotions:
                            Crying                          Confusion
                           Discouragement          Defensiveness
                           Rejection                       Grief
                           Sadness                         Self-abuse
                           Sorrow                           Stubbornness


• Muscle connections: Deltoid muscles, coracobrachialis muscles and serratus anterior.

• Diurnal cycle: The lungs come into prominence during the time of the lung Meridian, 3amto 5am.

Colon

Explanation

The colon or large intestine absorbs water and salt from fecal material.

• Common symptoms of imbalance may include:
* Discomfort in the low back
* Discomfort in the hips
* Diarrhea, constipation, colitis

• Hormones Produced: None known

• The lungs generate the following emotions:
                            Crying                          Confusion
                           Discouragement          Defensiveness
                           Rejection                       Grief
                           Sadness                         Self-abuse
                           Sorrow                           Stubbornness


• Muscle connections: Tensor fasciae latae muscle, hamstring muscles.

• Diurnal cycle: The colon comes into prominence during the time of the large intestine meridian, 5am to 7am.
